MONICA J. BRASINGTON, ESQ., was raised in Gainesville, Florida. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1991, the University of Florida in 1993, and the University of Florida College of Law at Levin in 1997. After graduating from law school, Monica relocated to Atlanta, Georgia and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1997. In Atlanta, she worked as a Commercial Litigator for King & Spalding and as a Legal Documentation Administrator for Fleet Capital Corporation.
After the birth of their son, Monica and her husband decided to return to Florida. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1999 and she worked as a Trial Court Staff Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court. In 2006, Monica Brasington and Shannon Miller formed a partnership, MILLER & BRASINGTON, P.L. Monica practices in the following areas: Guardianships, Guardian Advocacies, Advance Directives, Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration and Litigation, and Medicaid Planning.
Monica has spoken nationally and statewide on such topics as: Estate Planning, Guardianship, and Special Needs. Monica is a member of the Order of the Coif, Phi Delta Phi Legal Society, the Gerald Bennett Inns of Court Board Member, the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, North Florida Estate Planning Council Board Member, Wealth Counsel, the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, Association of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar and the Florida and the Georgia Bars. Her special interests include running, baking, Gator sports, traveling, reading, and spending time with family.
